This is a video I made last year for an Honors Biology II class. It is on Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), a disease where bones are extremely brittle due to a lack of collagen. The video is more of a personal view of the disease as opposed to a biological one. I also wrote a paper on the disease, and if youd like more information on it feel free to send me a message or visit www.oif.org.

I spent some time with a family, the Sullivans, who have a daughter with OI who is now four (Molly). I went to a session of water therapy with her and talked to the mother about having a child with OI. Visit their blog at www.mollysullivan.blogspot.com!

  • She's adorable! I'm not related to her though-if you read the description it explains that I contacted the family for a project. OIF gave me her mom's contact information and I was fortunate enough to spend some time with them!

  • I also have three other children so it has been very hard and stressful.

  • Molly is so adorable!! I just had a baby girl 3mos ago and she has type III OI. She has had some other issues with her airway so she now has a trach. Watching your video gives me some hope for our little girl. She has been through so much already and she is only 3mos old. When I was pregnant with her we had no idea that she had OI. All we really new was she was smaller and that she had clubbedfeet. She has had 6 fractures since she has been in the hospital. Thank You so much for sharing ur story
