Bear Raids Trash; Police Shoot Him

My mom & I came across this black bear for the 2nd time in a week. He turns over a trash can while my mom scolds him like a small child (/sigh...). A neighbor called the cops; 3 police trucks arrive. The one police officer said he was the largest black bear he's seen in the Breckenridge CO area...approx 300 lbs. Then they retrieved their bean bag shotguns...

When you make sure all the trash bins are bear proof, then the animal starts breaking into cars. When people start removing food, candy wrappers, empty soda cans, empty ice chests/lunch boxes from their cars then bears break into homes. They will even break into homes with people in the home. At that point the bear must be destroyed, along with any cubs that a sow might have with her. She is teaching the cubs to act like her, they need removal from the gene pool. Relocation does not work.

As cute as this is, you really need to get a bear proof trash can. Even though this fellow is clearly afraid of people, if your neighbor calls the police on him enough times he might be deemed as a problem bear and killed. He will continue to come back time and time again until you obstruct his food source.

This is clearly another case of profiling by the police. Do you think that they would have shot it if the bear wasn't black? Of course not.....the bastards (and bitches.)

Instead of the right to bear arms, they should have the right to arm bears.....or something like that (*_~)

This same bear will end up attacking those residents. And the chances will go up exponentially if the bear gets sick or injured. If so, humans become a slow moving easy to kill source of food. Those officers should have made arrangements to trap and relocate the bear or killed it. If this was my house I would have killed the bear and called the authorities. A vet could determine if it was healthy, rabid etc post mortum of course.

i got the same problem ang me and my dad go hunting and it was bear sesion so i took care of the problem and we call animal controme first adn the guy lost his arm and som police and the police car got a big dent in it so i took care of besniss
