After the polls close, an Elections Officer and usually the Inspector, or the lead person at a precinct, drive the ballots and the red suitcases filled with supplies to the Receiving Stations where they are transferred to a waiting Delancey Street moving truck that will eventually make its way up to the Tower Road facility for unloading. Before anybody leaves the Receiving Station, the JBC Chain of Custody logs must be signed, the seals and locks must be inspected for tampering or incomplete information, and precinct number tracked to indicate the movement of the equipment. And once they arrive, theres a flurry of activity as the trucks are unloaded and the supplies are once again checked, logged and scanned before everything is put away. See how busy the warehouse is at 11 p.m., how organized the warehouse remains with the return of mountains of things, and how many people are involved in restoring order!
