How to test and fix PSP UMD laser

How to test and fix PSP UMD laser on a PSP slim (2000).
Additional information:
Your problem is probably that one of the levers were jammed by a bit of dirt or something and it could be dislodged when you push them in to test it. Also, people have been complaining that the levers break because of this video. That dosen't happen if you don't push too hard.
