Rhinoceros the "Supergroup" from the late 60's early 70's played a fantastic reunion for the Kitchener Bluesfest on August 7th, 2009. The band was in fine form after not playing together for 36 years! "Get Out The Back Door" 2009

Original members John Finley, Alan Gerber, Danny Weis, Michael Fonfara and Peter Hodgson, with Mike Sloski (drums) and Bernie LaBarge (guitar).

  • this is cool. im lissing to the song on the original vinel right now. on the satin chickens LP. its a trip to see and see one one from 40 years ago and only know that then see this. they still got it.

  • Ain't Danny Weis awesome! Went on to play withe The Rascals for a bit.

  • I saw them twice in New Haven, Conn. at the 'Stone Balloon'. Must have been circa 1968. Everyone thought they would go right to the moon; they were one of the best live bands I've ever seen. I'll bet there is an interesting story here.

  • I saw them in New York at the Bitter End

in the west village, this was the best place

to see any band because it was so intimate, there were probably about 150

fans packed in this place and with the

low ceiling the accoustics were perfect,

the guys were literally feet away, what an

experience, one I will never forget!

I still listen to their music up to this day.

    Rhino fan forever . . . . . Rich

  • It's horrible to see that everybody who saw them live say how it was a great live band, and I'm DYING to hear any rhinoceros show from the original lineup...

  • YES! It's about time! The BEST live band I ever saw...that was 40 years ago in Flushing, Queens, N.Y. August, 1969......made me decide to pursue my dream of being a professional musician. I'm still doing it, and I'm glad to see they are, too!

  • What a joy to hear these guys still so funky and John Finlay sounds just as great as he always did.
