You are in a diluted talent pool as I am in SoCal. I am from Minnesota and Alaska things are a bit more competitive there. My 9 year old plays PeeWee level hockey here. He is the 3rd leading scorer in his league..... as a defenseman. Even though kids are several years older he is still one of the fastest skaters. Bump him up in competition he will get a lot more out if it than skating around kids that stand there like orange cones.

Kid has talent for Florida. It would be interesting to see how the kid does against some equal talent while having players of equal talent on his team. For all those guys ditching him about passing, who on this video can he pass to. Hardly any of them can skate. We have the same problem up here in Canada, but most kids in Atom (US Squirt) can skate like this kid and a few are considerably above that.

@swalawalas For those of you who are confused--these clips are of house league (i.e., recreation league), not AA hockey. He has moved way beyond these youth highlights and now plays AA/AAA level travel hockey.
