  • Some of you say this is NOT Kendo. You are wrong. But right. This WAS Kendo! "Original Kendo" had several grappling/wrestling techniques. Just look at the clip "Kendo - You asked for it" here on youtube and you will see the legstrafe "for real". "Modern" kendo is as you say, free of grappling.

  • well as a kendoka, you will failed in kendo test if using that trick, c'mon man, thats not the way of sword!

  • Is a direct stab against the rules? Like just a straight up jab at jab at the chest.

  • This is Original Kendo.......meaning BEFORE World War 2. These teachings have been banned for a long time for a certain reason.

  • This is funny. But NOT kendo.

  • why will you get punished for something like that

  • You will get punished for those tricks by the judges.

Still, those moves have always been things I missed when training.

  • ¡Shame on you! That is not Kendo

  • This is just a medieval sword fight, not the art that is kendo.

  • this is NOT kendo. But of course these techniques would win the match. Well.. your opponent will win by 4th hansoku or by your disqualification LOL
