Today on this boat trailer we are going to install part number DL24242 from Dutton-Lainson, this is their 2 inch wide by 20 foot long winch strap and this is rated to 4,000 pounds. The first thing we need to do is remove the old strap. You can see at the very end there is a bolt that got bent up so we are going to have to remove that. We are going to reinstall the strap and go through it and install the nut. The nut stays on the gear side. When you install the bolt keep it as close to the center as possible and just tighten it down to where it meets, you do not have to really crush it or anything. Then you can just wind up your strap. There you have it for part number DL24242.
