  • CAN THE 5 HUNDRED (SOME) STATES THAT HAVE SIGNED TO SUPPORT A CONVENTION , BACK OUT FROM THEIR SUPPORT OF AN ART. V ?

HOW LONG ARE THE SUPPORT SIGNITURES GOOD FOR ? INDEFINITE ?

  • @Bigjer999

The applications last as long as the Constitution lasts, or until there is a convention. In other words, they are like everything else named in the Constitution. There are no laws which limit them in any way. Check the FOAVC.org site for more details, and please help raise awareness of this issue. Thank You.

  • So the Supreme Court ruled that corporations do have a right to speak about political issues. Seems consistent to me that they should. Why should they not be afforded the same right as a labor Union, a Media Broadcaster, or a PAC who are also not "persons" ?

  • @magazooms @magazooms in short, money is not speech. it's the volumne of a speech. only those forces that're well-funded will be heard.

we have ES&S and Diebold countinng over 80% of votes cast nationwide. all on proprietary source code. i you don't have transparent elections, you don't have a free society--the two are one and the same. thus, the problem of corporate funding is actually a secondary problem.

  • Great! but...I've gone thru most of the Article V

and CC2 sites and could not find anything about the next step in this saga. My site is for Congressional Term Limits,(look for it on youtube at nels96)and one of the strategies listed is for a convention, but I had no idea that Bill Walker had taken it so far. So how do I find out what's next ? Can I help ?

  • hi nels, i just got your e-mail address and will send info shortly. type "Friends of the Article V Convention" into google search. it should be there. thanks for your efforts.

  • GOP and lobby want to privatise voting electronically to manipulate who wins!

  • Congress only submitted the amendment to the states out of fear of other actions that might come out of a convention. It was not a benevolent act. The states had been asking for the direct election of Senators for many years.

  • Really intersting video....fair play to the geezer for looking into it and doing something about it.

  • Why are you waiting for those criminals in Congress to approve what you are doing? Did the founding fathers wait for King George to give them permission? Just hold the convention, draft some articles of confederation or a new constitution, and make sure you specifically deny corporations citizenship and deny them a charter if not for the public good - and deny corporations the power to lobby congress or make contributions to candidates.

  • Very Cool! That research just might save our country.

  • There are 567 applications from all 50 states. The Constitution requires only 34 state applications. Your assumption is incorrect. Further Congress has refused to call a convention.
