  • Thanks for posting! I had not seen this one. I think the tempo is a tad slow, but overall, very nice.

  • I don't know why, but I love this recording especially for the slow tempi. It has a much more feeling for me..

  • A very good interpretation. You can Cappuccilli compare with himself: Covent Garden (1975), Scala Milano (1978), Opera Gineva (1984, although this has diappeared at the moment) and Bratislava (1990). It is always a bit different, but he always so impressive. My favourite baritone of the Italian opera.

  • Come si puo'cantare ancora,a 64 anni, con fiati eccellenti, niente smorfie per aggiustarsi le note ,la voce NON BALLA.

  • Watch @ 1.10 how the great Cappuccilli shatters that statuette using only the vibrattions of his powerful baritone voice ! Seriously, his intensity and ease with which he produced a beautiful legato made him one of the masters in the great tradition of bel canto.

  • @Krawi6 I think exactly the same! He was 61 here! Wow!

  • simply incredible!!!!

  • Grandissimo Cappuccilli!

  • Non l'avrei mai detto ma aveva ben 64 anni!

    Perfetto come da giovane!!!!

  • musetta729, non si può fare di meglio.. Maestro, grazie per la tua arte.. sarà sempre nei nostri cuori..

  • Beyond Compare!!! Thank you.

  • Cappucilli was an incredible baritone.

The only thing that bothers me about him sometimes is the "oo" vowel...it sounds kinda thin/different from the rest of his voice. The note from 1:11 to 1:13 is an example. I mean it sounds fine, but thin in comparison to other vowels. I dunno. He's still one of my favorites, if not my favorite.
