Stowaways s01e06 - "All at Sea Part II"

I think episode 6 marks the point at which my 'creative vision' (spit!) squares off against my minimal ability with the software and my inexperience directing animation of any kind and takes a beating! Lol!

This ep took soooo long to make and the "raw footage" came in at like 115GB on my hard-drive! And is it what I hoped? Not so much! About 75%. There is stuff I should probably re-do...and yet...;-)

That said, I am happy with the series on the whole. Its been fun. It has forced me to get to grips with some of the finer points of iClone, though I still have loads to learn and, well, I think the story is sorta cool (even if I do say so myself!) ;-)

Will there be a Series Two? I hope so cos I enjoyed myself! But it depends on many factors...not least the fact that Jessica Liu (Dr Chan) has left Singapore to study in the USA and Joe Murray (Dominic) has declined further involvement due to professional voice acting commitments. Both Paul and I wish them good luck and every success!

Hopefully, though, we will be able to re-cast those roles and make 6 more eps next year cos as hobbies go, this is a fun one!

Well, I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I really want to finish it, for my own sake if nobody elses...but towards the last couple of eps I was rushing things and it showed...the quality of the visuals was poor even by my standards! I was forced to rush things, so I just decided to wait until I was not so busy. It's been a year and I have not found the time yet Goddammit! haha...Thanks for watching though...it is comments like yours that encourage me to start again :)

Most of this series seems very professionally done, esp. the voice acting and music. I'd almost expect something like this on the Sci-Fi Channel. And, yes, different environment lighting can help a lot. That said, I really don't like the way this series is heading. Not only does involving time travel tend to make things very messy, but I don't like the concept either. And training a 9 year old to become a killer? That's very disturbing...

Thank you for this and your other comment. It's good to read differing view points - and you make some very good points. All I can say in relation to the story is don't take things at face value...thats sort of a motto for the whole series! Where you think it is headed may not be where it is actually going...at least, I hope not! Thanks again for the very useful feedback.

Thanks allpoint. I want to spend some time playing with the lights in iClone 3...not so much for effects, but for mood and atmos, hopefully give the whole thing a more "tv" feel. Cheers again for all your support. Merry Xmas to u too :-)

nice job, liked the end effects. i think the scenes work much better with the darker lighting. Look forward to next years series. Merry Xmas.
