The directors did it on purpose to make the audience hate her everytime they see her. I think there were reviewers that hated whenever she showed up on screen.

LOL I love that Snape part also. I admit that Umbridge is absolutely NOTHING like I pictured her, the way she'll be in the movie seems INCREDIBLY good.
