@miketag - I totally understand what you mean people need to get a grip and understand that we are not defined by the jobs that we do. We don't always love or have to love what we do to make money, it's just a means to an end!
Hey, i love this guy! He is my hero and this is why. I used to work for a major Airline for about 8 years and during that time i could honestly say about 85% of passenger were just plain rude! Most of the time for no reason at all. They think it's their right to yell at or swear at others without consequence! I would like to think i'm a nice professional and polite individual but there was no pleasing certain people. Everyone has a breaking point, we are all human and we all have feelings!
Its kind of sad that people talk about him as a hero. Rather than simply looking up to him...why not try and be like him?
An old boss of mine used to say "shit rolls down hill" as an excuse as to both how I was treated from above, and how I was expected to treat those below me. I left.
Its the accepted indignities on the small scale that allow large scale indignities to occur. If we all said "enough is enough" like Steven the world would be a better place.
Steve Slater, you are a hero! It must get old having to deal with entitled grown-up brats who feel as if the world was created for their satisfaction. "Where's my pillow, my food isn't hot, give me alcohol, or when is the plane going to land?" Shut up.
