In this video I add light molding paste from Golden Acrylics to my colors. I also add some Golden Open acrylics ( a slow drying formula) to slow down the drying time. I paint over a full value, full color under paintings (see blog entries 21 and 23). - Brad Teare, http://bradteare.blogspot.com/

  • works beautifully! I think less regular acrylic and more open and the light molding paste and some open thinner seems to be the best combo for me. But then, I have to push myself to really paint thick as you do - thanks for the vid, very helpful! The retarder may be helping too!

  • Great comments during the video:

    2:58 "That's a beautiful stroke."

3:42 "The colour that's reading the darkest is the blues so that's interesting."

4:05 "If I could keep this wet, I'd love to try this out in the field."

    4:30 "That's a nice brush stroke. I love that."

4:46 "Getting some nice dry brush effects there. That's nice."

These are the things I want to know - what is the artist thinking during any particular part of the process.
