Protector: Special Edition is a game released well after the Jaguar's original commercial life by Songbird Productions. It's a Defender-style game and is incredibly fun!
The "Special Edition" refers to a few things not present in the original Protector --
1. New graphics
2. New sounds
3. Ability to load programs to your Jag via BJL.
There may be other differences, but I can't remember.
This cart is WELL worth the money, especially for the ease of BJL uploading.

  • I tried this with the cd, the game seems to change to black and white, with different graphics???

  • @Abasuto The ship honestly doesn't feel too big for me. I used to think that, but the size is something you get used to. This looks too fast though. It looks like it would be hard to aim.

  • @guysafari

No way. This is far better than D2000. Plays smoother and your ship is way too big in D2000, makes it feels clustered.

  • Doesn't look half bad. Defender 2000 beats it easily, but it looks like an interesting game to get.

  • @axecalibore yea people can say what they want about the jaguar but it was not lacking in the sound department because it had some rocking soundtracks

  • i cannot get off level six of this game to save my life........in the words of the humanoid "help me"

  • @redd7188 I loved the classical music on the original Protector for the 800. This music- not!! This game is a way better ripoff of Defender than old Protector was though.

  • yeah, it's sad how Minter f*cked up Defender 2K. Minter lost it since T2K. T3K was okay. Space Giraffe was a disaster. Now he's hoping to resurrect himself on the iPhone...

  • the music on this game blows

  • @AlephNeil - The size of the ship in D2K was just ridiculous...almost comical.
