This year, our apartment has been getting very expensive electric bills. $160 for a very small two bedroom apartment. We are good about turning the lights off and we have newish appliances. No A/C, no heater.

I looked at the circuit breaker to try to figure out if there was anything that could account for the usage and I found one breaker that didn't control anything (as far as I could tell). I turned it off and then forgot about it. Then our next electric bill came. $60 dollars.

THAT MYSTERY BREAKER WAS COSTING US AROUND $100 A MONTH!

In this video, my roommate flips the breaker on and off while I film the meter.

  • could be a pump that is stuck on run like one of are wells pump have a bad pressure switch and it runs 24/7

  • @215858452845 I don't think so because we still had hot water for weeks after turning off that switch. I think instead it may have powered some radiative heating elements in the ceiling that we did not use.

  • ask ur electric company to install digital meters instead
