This title and comments of this video is totally misleading, The CEO of Caterpillar did not contradict himself or Obama. The videos are reversed in time. He didn't believe he could rehire workers UNTIL he heard about the healthcare plan..

I don't think every program in the stimulus package is worthwhile. However, im not inclined to listen to a CEO of a company that is losing money. If he is such a hot shot money manager, he shouldn't need our tax payer money. Its like their company is drowning but they don't like the life-saver that we've thrown them.

I don't see a contradiction so much as a difference in timelines. Obama made no specific estimate as to when they should be in the black to be able to hire workers back. CEO Jim said it will probably get worse before it gets better.
