acer laptop screen problem

we brought this acer laptop 18 months ago for our son,it has had problems right from the start,terrible. now another problem with the screen flickering and half missing,lines etc,we have checked connections,look ok,could be inverter or lcd/cables. does anyone have any ideas because acer just want money,money,money to help...plugged to outside monitor works fine,,,wouldnt hurt acer to help instead of wanting money,money,money, but there you go.

I've had an Acer laptop for 7 years ,it's stil working. Acer is NOT a bad brand, it depends on what models you buy. If you buy Acer Emachine, then u are screwed. If you buy a bit more expansive Aspire, then you're good. And if you had problems right from the start, then ask if you can get a new model.

@ultrawaregamestudios he has an acer aspire 5520g had it 13 months and it wont boot up.just went off it was working fine..shop says its the motherboard..thats what acer do.put cheap motherboards in to last a certain amount of time...if acer or anyone gave me a free laptop...the best specs...if it was an acer i would refuse it

Never buy Acer again. I had problems here in Spain but with a LCD TV 37 screen from this bloody brand. Problem started just after one month we bought the TV. I got 3 repairs in 2 years warranty, waiting for months to get repaired each time. A shame. I've started a legal acction against them now.

i know,acer dont want to know they only want money all the time,how can you buy a laptop and it last 18 months,having 3 repairs in between. i read one lad repairs acer laptops and they keep him in business,so at least their helping someone.

Did you mean Parkard Bell? Parkard bell is a Dutch computer manufacturer and a SUBSIDIARY of Acer.

I'm not really sure what you're saying too. "Acer just rebranded by Parkerd bell" doesn't really make sense to me. Are you saying that Acer is a brand of Parckard bell? Or vise versa?

I have an Acer laptop (5738G) and I am very pleased with the way it works. I have absolutely no problem. Of course there could be a model where something went wrong - you have warranty for that. I am sure that there is no brand with zero problems.

LCD CABBLE or LCD CABLES SOCKET ON MOTHERBOARD. - CHECK THE PINS, maybe missing one in socket.

@crash3uk i got exactly the same problem, but on my visit to the philippines i stumbled upon a little laptop repair shop and they change 2 of the resistors on the motherboard. good as new im reloading the software right now.

i had the same problem, so i just tried to fix it to my way, so i just have to say, punching the display will not work, it will just make ur display go broken, FTW!

I was so pissed that i just threw mi lap to my bed & went to my desktop pc shit!! Anyway it might be a bus problem

lol,all of you who said acer sucks are fucking stupid.why dont you just fucking look around youtube? if you do,you willl see the same problems happening with other people on the SAME laptop. i mean yah it fucks up,but every company has bum laptops every ounce in a while. check out there new netbooks ,nobody can compete with that.

ive owned a ibm thinkpad t23 for 9 years only the hardrive failed a toshiba satilite never had a problem sold it after 3 years my new samsung r580 has no problems but my bloody acer aspire 1 netbook has had soo many problems the battery failed twice speakers shorted out cooling fan failed and the power brick nearley caught on fire and i only had it for 2 years

it happed to my acer aspire one you pushed to hard on the screen or there was something under the screen when you closed the lid

it doesnt cost alot to fix

but that is probably because i live in taiwan and acer is in taiwan
