Cool video but I don't agree with the MR being some kind of more mature of a car as they try and make it sound. Wanting the Manual transmission over the SST doesn't make someone a boy racer. Extra chrome stuff around the car doesn't make it any less boy racer either. Boy racer is a stereo type made by old people in buicks, and I couldn't care less for their opinion.

@commandro It's not your typical torque converter based automatic transmission. The SST is actually like two clutch based (like a manual transmission) transmissions put into one, with one side being the odd gears and the other side being the even ones. It makes for super fast shifting like in a Porsche or Ferrari or Lamborghini with you manually selecting gears. The only thing it's missing is a clutch pedal which is unnecessary with this system. I'll send you a link in another reply.

@UnitNumberNine I never heard or seen automatic ever beating its manual counterpart. If you say so, please feel free to send me a link. But so far; no matter how fast they make the clutch and the gear respond, they have yet to make automatic gearbox that can look ahead and anticipate when and what gear to shift. Right now the sensors are only limited to throttle and the rotation of the wheels, that makes it always one pace behind, especially on hills and changing road-surfaces.

@commandro What are you talking about? The SST is a very fast double clutch system, and MRs typically do better than GSRs around a track. The only place some GSRs shine is in 0-60 time.

@Love9sick I think you got it all wrong. Its the people who buy MR's and SST's who want to fit into your described "boy racer" image. They all want to have fierce looking 300hp evo, but dont seem being able to get clutch-shift-throttle sequence right or dont even know what gear at what point to shift altogether. The fact is, that neither MR or SST make full use of their engine performance, they're just too slow. Might just as well buy an ordinary Lancer with chrome and minus the spoiler ofcourse

@grocer3 THAT IS CRAZY!!! AWESOME!!! By lowest level I don't mean lowest level Evo, I mean lowest level Lancer X, not evo. That is just crazy. If only Americans had the steering wheel on the right side of the car.
-
@BigLeprichaun Yes the MR not the normal version!!!!!!!!!!! the evo 9! not the evo X
-
@BigLeprichaun hahaha yeah ive seen really nice used stock evo mr 8's for $16000
-
@grocer3 Serious?!!! The MR, not the normal version, the MR. In Australia the lowest level costs about $20000, and currently the Au dollar is stronger than the US dollar.
-
@BigLeprichaun around $20000
-
How much is the MR in the U.S.?
thanks for the upload...where is this video from? did it come with the evo X package?
