the police are the ones rioting here. the demonstration was peaceful and people have a right to voice their opinions over issues that the politicians aren't addressing.

Look at the leaders you're protesting against; Bush, Harper, Merkel, Sarkozy, Fukuda. All these people were democratically elected leaders.
