Can't talk too much about freedom when the USA dominates most of Europe through NATO. Freedom in the sense that your government, in terms of foreign policy, is an tool. Hey don't worry, the rest of the weak Euro countries are there as well. But don't get your hopes up. If the Russians got pissed, they could clear through Europe and no one could save it.

It would appear to be so. Essentially this is a socialist country, but the "socialist" ideals have been dying for the last 40 years. The only problem is that it is not so easy to make money here!!! That might sound odd but I think i could do better in the US! But I still like that we are 'free' and we have a saftey net and universal health care. 35% tax though

That bastard was US ambassador in my country too. And just like in Iraq here in Croatia also he behaved very undiplomatically and constantly interfered into our internal political affairs, what is inconsistent with the ambassador role he had.
