Ya Sadati (Oh my masters, the Ahlul Bayt) يا سادتي لا تبعدوا

Poem on love of the Ahlul Bayt, by the imam of the Azhar, and the guide to Allah, al-arif billah, sayyidi Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari al-Husayni, may Allah be pleased with them and with him.

My masters: keep not at a distance
from me, for I am your son!

I seek the contentment - oh masters-
of my Lord, from His bounties that surround you

Oh objects of my love, I am
in your land (Egypt), near you!

The best nearness is your nearness,
in abodes of eternity you reside!

Gardens of Eden that have been embellished,
for your eternal life there!

Allah has honoured your Household,
in the Qur'an your purity is recited!

Oh Sun of shining light,
your Sun rises above all stations and orbits!

How could I ever be lost when I,
am your guest, in your house!

How could I ever be wronged after,
having seen the beauty of your perfection!

If I am a sinning servant,
Then it was your grandfather's way to forgive!

And through him I obtain my objectives -
for this world and the next - in your presence!

And in the long years of this world I find,
always your beautiful perfumes!

You are the ones who give your food,
to those who come asking at your doors!

You will be most honoured in Paradise,
and will be dressed in green garments!

Oh people of Muhammad's Household,
all the hearts love you!

Your days are most luminous,
you are the Sun of Virtues!

If I'm ever far it's not from coldness toward you,
I never cease singing your praise!

I ask you for your bounty:
do not deny me your kindness!

I ask Allah's contentment - my masters-
through the light of your du'as (for me)!

And may my Lord's blessings always,
whelm the Prophet, your beloved!

And likewise His peace upon you all,
as long as your praise emits perfumes!

As long as (our shaykh) Salih stands at your door,
asking for your contentment, out of your generosity!
