I am in the early stages is getting into falconry, I have been all over the net and visited the NAFA web site and the GFA sites. I asked Fish and Wildlife for a packet and got it, I've been reading it and I've been trying to find some of the books. I am going to the GFA trapping seminar/picknick. My next steps I think will be to get the furniture and build the mews and weathering area, then take the test. then I'll be looking for a sponsor.

@DreamsofCentaurs Dont build your mew and weathering are without your sponsor. There are lots of things that need to be integrated into your housing that you are unaware of. Foot care, perch material and placement, drainage, door and access, flooring material and drainage. Get a sponsor before you build anything. You will most likely make a mew that is not 100% safe for the bird. Murphy's law rules falconry. Whatever you think might be safe and ok ends up not being ok.

@AcidfartProductions What state do you live in?

Listen up, for the last time. Currently in the state of Nevada in the USA as of 2011 it is illegal for an apprentice to possess a captive bred raptor. They may only possess wild trapped red-tails and kestrels.

Listen you ignorant person. Unless you know the falconry laws of another country or state, shut the hell up. It is illegal for an apprentice in the US to have an eyas, PERIOD!! Besides, this red-tail caught jack rabbits just fine. This bird is not older, it was 6 months old. Your master is incorrect in his information.
An as an apprentice, so far you know jack shit about falconry, keep learning and keep your mouth shut.
