  • i have a BMW X3 3.0i 2005 :$ Best sound ever :D

  • so with SD does it shif by its self??

  • More power = More Gas no matter what..

You can use steptronic all the time, Just dont downshift when you are accelerating, because it puts alot of strain on the tranny

  • It depends on the RPM you shift the gears on. If it's low RPM's, it's less gas. However, it'll take you a while to get from 0 - 40mph that way. I'm asking this, because my x3 is starting to lag when I shift from 1st gear to 2nd. It lags and then a boost of power just kicks in and throws me slightly forward. Also, it smells like a burnt clutch when I'm done driving. I cannot remember the last time I drove automatic. Step is more fun.

  • Yeah I'm wondering about that too.

I have a 2006 Bmw 325i and I use to Steptronic occasionally.. but is it like the manual where it saves a bit more gas or does it actually run more?

  • is it okay to drive steptronic all the time? Or is it not recommended?
