What Tim Allen does for his neighbor at the end of the movie is the only thing in this movie which actually represents Christmas. I didn't like how they tried to paint Christmas, this is more of what I call Holiday fluff. Though the storyline and Tim Allen were good.

plus nobody goes around selling christmas tree's door to door. they are usually sold on an empty lot by farmers who come into town for the month to sell them.

who acts like this? i live in chicago, and the ward boss doesnt go around bugging people like this, let alone in the suburbs. on my street alone, probably due to the recession, only one house across from me is lit up for christmas. NOBODY else put up decoration lights. thats why i found this movie completely unrealistic.

and what would the neighbors do if a Jewish family moved in? would they force them to celebrate christmas like they did with these people?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who disagrees with the neighbors and their attitudes with how the Kranks are celebrating the Chirstmas holiday. So they aren't celebrating Christmas that year. BIG DEAL!! The neighboors should realize that the Krank's daughter isn't there and they don't wanna celebrate it without her. Somebody else could've held a party and maybe even barrow the Frosty thing. They took things too far. Instead of blaming the Kranks.

God i hated this movie, and i was 8 when i saw it!
Extremely boring and full of "Christmas Nazi's"! "BUT YOU CAN'T SKIP CHRISTMAS!". Christ! What kind of message is that? I'm usually nice to movies and give them a chance, but not this! This is a piece of sh*t! The trailer doesn't help it either! I like how its a happy movie, but its still very boring cr*p! I like Tim Allen too, but this movie SUCKS BALLS!
One of my favourite movies of all time is Elf, a christmas movie. But this is bullsh*t.

i just saw the whole movie in 2:28 min ;(
I know there are people who loves this movie and those who says it "sucks", but some of my friends regard this movie's premise as vile and evil. These people do not have their daughter around and want to celebrate Christmas their own way, yet the neighbours are trying to stop them for selfish reasons. And this couple are the ones portrayed as bad. It sends a bad message to children, and the ideologies of the Krank's neighbours are disturbing.

- "Did you talk talk to Rex?"
- "Who's Rex?"
-"The BUTCHER!" (Obvious facial expression)
- "As odd as it sounds, i didn't think of asking the butcher where the CHOCOLATE was!"
