3-year-old boy killed by jet ski

YUBA CITY, CA - A day of fun for a family ended a nightmare on Saturday all because of two compelte morons. At around 5:30 Saturday afternoon, 3-year-old Dominique was washing his shoes off in about 6-inches of water as his family prepared to leave after a day of swimming. As usual with most lakes and rivers, there were boats, skiers and jetski's on the water. Whie most are operated responsibly with no incidents, some are operated by idiots as well as intoxicated idiots. Dominick happened to have the unfortunate of meeting John Blanchard, 65, and Allan Minkema, 50, when they decided to run their jet ski on to the beach at 20 mph. Dominique's mother was not able to get to him in time, and he was struck by the jet ski. He would die later that evening from massive head injuries.

Sad as hell. This is why I won't even let my nephew walk to the water without me. Also, sounds like they are kinda bashing jet ski riders. If a drunk driver kills somebody, are all drivers reckless?

Horrible, people don't know how to ride responsibly, I swear it, every time I go to the river, people are drunk, it's almost like there are no rules to drinking & driving on the water. They need to regulate it more & start busting people for drinking. So sorry for your horrible loss!! I ride jet ski's responsibly, don't drink, dont ride next to people, surfers, or fishermen, this gives jet ski'ers a bad name too!

machines seem to attract selfish people. i've noticed car drivers also seem to generally show contempt for pedestrians and if a pedestrian crosses when the lights are green car drivers start to get all mad and hurl abuse instead of showing compasion. I have definitely noticed the effect that machines seem to have on some people. start showing more respect for people. dont be an asshole when you drive or use a watr vehicle. there enough people like that in the world already

I'm a jetskier and have been almost 20 years. This breaks my heart because I have a toddler as well. It's pure ignorance here. Soo sad. I never get near anyone, these machines are very heavy and dangerous. When are operators going to learn?
