hi! yes. the speaker is connected to the PWM output of the attiny2313 through a transistor. the playback is 8bit @ 32kHz. i used 2 push-pull drivers connected to form an H-bridge and an LC low pass filter in the final design.
so the simplest version is like attiny2313 - FET - speaker. :)
