For "Going Away" (the only single off Gangway's 1991 album, "The Quiet Boy Ate the Whole Cake"), director Torsten Leschly from Feltwave shot a series of silent movie-type tableaux, based on ideas by the group's main songwriter and guitarist, Henrik Balling.
Henrik explains: "It has got nothing whatever to do with the lyrics. The content is derived only from the music. I think that's much more effective than merely taking the lyrics and maybe just the outermost layer of the music as your starting point".
The video cost a paltry 5000 DKK and, in typically backwards Gangway fashion, it was made six months after the album and single was released.

  • How hilarious, I never saw this video before. I love Gangway, always have always will. And yes, Henrik Balling is a genious. Wish they would reunite and make some more cool music. By the way, I totally disagree on the PSB influence. Gangway always has been and always will be noone but themselves. They were too clever to let any influence show in their music.

D'oh,
