Tanya Jackson Smith is the founder and president of Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. She and her family sold everything they owned in order to purchase the acres of land on which the animal refuge now sits. Without Smith and Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, 90% of the animals would now be dead.
Tanya Jackson Smiths purpose in life is to keep the refuge running and educate the public that "big cat" kittens do not grow up to be good pets, and that people who purchase them are doing a disservice to wild animals.
