Wasn't this directed by Chuck Jones and written by none other than Ted "Dr. Seuss" Geisel himself?
-
Banned from what? Fishing for views?
-
This short was probably directed by Friz Freleng, given that the exploding piano gag was used in other Freleng shorts, especially "Ballot Box Bunny" and "Show Biz Bugs"

@mrjakey i think bugs bunny had a very similar bit
-
this must have been done with north africa and Operation Torch in mind.

To all you morons who are so shocked and appalled by this cartoon: this was never meant for children or shown to children. In fact, the general public never saw these cartoons. "Private Snafu" cartoons were made for military training during WWII. Grow up.
They now have all of the cartoons, uncut, on a few of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection DVD sets. These sets have disclaimers saying they are not intended for children, but for adult collectors, which I am.
