Idaho State Police and Bingham County Sheriff's Deputies are responding to a two car accident just south of the Shelley exit on Interstate 15.
Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson says a van pulling a trailer had stopped on the shoulder to replace a blown tire. A semi-truck crashed into the back of the van around 2:30 p.m., Tuesday afternoon. Six people were traveling in the van, but it's unsure how many were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. One occupant, a young child, was taken by ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. There are no reports of any other injuries.
The impact of the collision forced the semi-truck to roll on to its top. The accident has blocked both lanes of southbound traffic and cars are being forced to take the Shelley exit.
