  • fixies are 'blah' or just 'eh'. Atleast this one has brakes! The pedals and handlebars are wack though. People! gears make you fast! Try driving your car in third gear all the time. Clearly you don't spend time on the velodrome, so what's the point? This would be fun for a backup casual bike. But even then I would never invest money in such a limiting machine as this.

  • @Racerdew "Limiting"? I would say a fixed gear is the most versatile bike. And nowadays they have 3 speed internal hubs, which is all you really need

  • @Racerdew I'll have to agree on the hill part. (No hills here in Louisiana)

  • @bigtoepfer

You don't need gears when you take the same turn over and over. When you leave the velodrome however you might come to apreciate them. Sustain 40 mph? that's some tall gearing, I'm skeptical of your friends ability, even downhill that's quite fast to maintain for miles, please. They don't cruise that fast in the peleton. Lets see him keep up with me through decker, potrero or kanan dume. (so cal hill climbs)

  • @Racerdew funny since the "fixie" trend is all fashioned after track racing bikes, mostly the fastest bikes around.

I personally know guys travelling at sustained speeds of about 40mph on their fixies for miles at a time. how fast do you go on your bike of may gears?

  • a lugged fork?

  • Is it just me or is Mongoose finally getting back into the bike scene. I remember they used to be big in the bike scene just like schwinn. Hmm. Good Job Mongoose.

  • @222JDA your a bellend

  • @samsoden3 I can't see any in this vid.

  • theres too many breaks on this bike for my liking
