  • hahah this shpuld have a title of succubus not incubus silly,, :)

  • I've never been to an esperanto congress. It must be really hard to understand so many people with accents and pronunciation influenced by their mother tongues.

  • Esperanto pronunciation must sound clear, like spanish or italian. With open vowels.

  • @BennyDACHO

I think that you have been influenced by didactic materials you used to learn Esperanto. "Gerda Malaperis" and "Kurso de Esperanto" were made by brazilians, the accents you listen in them may have made you believe that brazilian-portuguese is inherent in Esperanto.

But, just listen youtube videos like: "Mazi en Gondolando" polish accent , zero Portuguese; or "ESPERANTO-BLOGO 3:" made by an american girl who learned Esperanto thru Spanish, which she learned thru French.

  • @powerdriller10

Thank you, I know, but most accents sound more like Portuguese mixed with something Eastern European.

  • @BennyDACHO

Why Esperanto has to be pronounced like a mixture of Portuguese and eastern european languages??

Zamenoph, the creator of Esperanto, said that the most suitable pronunciation was the italian one. Portuguese was not really considered by Zamenoph.

Although in the famous (famkonata en Esperantujo) esperanto course "Gerda Malaperis" brazilian actors did a good job making the audio files with their brazilian voices and brazilportuguese accent.

Via patro pravas, la filma parolado estas plej malbona prononcata. Gxi ne estas reale malbone prononcata, gxi estas plene nekorecta. Actoroj prononcis votojn kaose.

Your father is right, the actors spoke a very poor Esperanto, the problem was not only bad pronunciation, but distortion and tearing apart of words. The purpose of Esperanto in the film was to create an atmosphere of mystery, an the unknown language helped to produce the effect, correct speaking was not needed

  • Shouldn't this have been titled Succubus???

  • WTF.... they have heavy American accents and they are trying to make it sound Spanish. It's not Spanish. Argh! Esperanto doesn't sound anything like this. It's more of a (not a requirement, of course) but a mixture of Eastern European accents and Portuguese.

  • Lol from what my dad (an Esperantist) tells me, this is the worst Esperanto he's ever heard!
