Hey cooles video, wäre vielleicht cool wenn du noch n paar videos über den Gebrauch der Messer machen könntest (gibt ja auch noch die kleinen Gartenhippen). Wie schwer ist eigentlich die unterste (also die kürzeste) ungefähr? :)

The ones with a long handle we call a "slasher billhook" here in the uk.

The long handled tool is known as a slasher but I've also heard them called brushing hooks.

@godofimagination Look at it edge on - if you cannot see the edge it is sharp - if the light shines off it, there is a flat surface, so it will be pretty blunt.... For splitting (cleaving) wood a blunt blade is fine, the cut propogates ahead of the edge - but for cutting (paring) it needs to be sharp....

How can you tell how sharp the blade is just by looking at it?

Sind tolle Werkzeuge und der Preis überzeugt halt schon. SInd aber nichts für die Ultra-Light Jungs (schon eher massiv) und sind natürlich auch alle länger als 12cm -> Legal Reason.
Und für das Video im Einsatz.. Ich hab da noch so'n Stück Pappel rumstehen.. Muss ich mal kucken.
Und ich hab grade die alte Adler-Preisliste gecheckt.. 7,95€ für die ganz rechts. Da macht man nichts verkehrt.

They look like they might have evolved from a sickle (which I assume is used for light work such as grasses). An ax, machete, billhook, and sickle comparison out in the field would be highly educational for me.

Used as a weapon for years. Swiss billmen could hack up an enemey pretty fast with their weaponised bill hooks.

And not just the Swiss (which I usually think of more in context of halberds). Especially the English were renowned for the use these.
