yeah, Ireland was robbed by France big time but it doesn't change the fact that french team is better than the U.S even if they underperform. and don't worry about Europe coz there's lots of confidence in quality overhere. I wouldn't be surprised if there're 4teams from Europe in semifinal in South Africa like 3 years ago. and I repeat- your win against Spain was one-off. at last but not at least Ireland is superior to U.S!!
You mentioned that win over Spain like 20 times already, literally. Could it be that that's the only argument supporting your claim? Even the greatest teams can be defeated by a weaker team, that's what makes football interesting. After the win over Spain, US lost to Denmark and Slovakia, both from Europe. The balance of power has not shifted by a long shot. The US is still in the same category as Costa Rica, Belgium, Greece, Japan etc., all average teams.
....a long, long time ago the British left something over there, a round, leather kind of thing..a foot(soccer)ball. Little did they know what to with it!!!!! The rest is history.....LOL
I can assure you with full responsibility that there are at least 10 european teams better than the U.S. your win against Spain was a total fluke, blip in form from far the best team in the world!! and the other teams which are superior to U.S are Germany, Italy, Holland, France, England, Portugal, Denmark, Serbia and few others that haven't qualified for the World Cup like Russia, Croatia or even Sweden! I wish you good luck but I don't fancy you going to the second round in South Africa!!
More human resources than China? I don't think so man. Financial resources? Your country has the most indebted government on Earth. And you can't play football. And also, China ended first on medal count in last Olympics. But that's ok, Olympics are about participating, not winning, right?
