The Flight to Victorville was the final flight of a Delta L1011. Ship number 728 was retired from passenger service on July 31, 2001. The historic flight to Victorville occurred the next day with especially selected Delta employees accompanying the TriStar to her final resting place in the aircraft boneyard at the California desert airport. This flight marked the end of a great era of L1011 service for Delta Air Lines.

I was singing the part "We're Delta...Delta Air Lines" in the 80's commercial. I had to stand on a coke crate to be tall enough to match those coming up singing behind me. My favorite non-rev memories revolve around the L10-11 and First Class royal service! Remember the ice cream sundaes? Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, these were certainly the "good old days" for Delta and the airline industry. I too fondly remember the first class service, the ice cream sundaes, and all the great Delta people I met during my career.
