His flaw is in the glove arm. It needs to lead the arm slot.

there's nothing wrong with arching your back, look at tim lincecum, his back is ridiculously arched, how bout telling the poor bastard to do something with that glove hand instead of letting it flop around like a seal fin

Everyone thinks the know this and that. its very simple. The kid on the right needs to get his damn elbow up when his foot hits the ground and actually use his front side. Nuff said.
-
You've potentially ruined his career congratulations an arched back is not his problem. It's his front side. In the process of your 'non arch' method he no longer fires his back hip completely/ properly before landing

i really like how well you coach these students. i am very interested in getting lessons. where are you located? please send me your business information. Also, if its not to much to ask. can you give me some ppointers on my latest videos tat i posted on 4/4/11. thank you

@PinkmanBaseball got to get his fromt arm action going a little bit..elbow the midget
Wow, you should solve this kids many problems by starting with his plant foot. He lands in both videos with his heel and his front foot pointed to the third base side of his target, which severly opens his hips before he ever delivers the ball.
Opens the hips opens the shoulders(rushing) continues rotating to the knee destroying position that he throws from
OUCH ..Help this kid out

He did have several issues regarding posture at release point, we addressed all of them over time, this was just a quick sample of what we did in a short time, if you can fix the posture w/out changing his front foot /hips that is preffered in my mind, we deal with a lot of kids that have no hip/shoulder separation so 2 much is not always a bad thing as long as timing and posture are in line. Some students can work with it, some can't, but if posture & balance are good, i think its a none issue

the yellow pants guy at
0.56
has what we call
rushing problem, it will influence his commend
and at 0.32 he has the borderline line Inverted L
which is a serious issue to his elbow
these 2 problems are my major concern, how come u did not realise when you are analysis his pitching mechanics>???
so funny

you are right, his "rushing" & "inverted L" are caused by late and long hand separation, but i guess you already knew what caused it and how to fix it...if you look at :34 on the left you'll see his arm is in a pretty good high cocked position, not very bad for his elbow...pointing out a few common problems in a 2:00 video is very different from an hour long video analysis...so funny how you judge a 2 min video and assume so much

leaning back does nothing for velocity. 80% of velocity comes from the seperation from the lead hip and back shoulder. leaning back does nothing for this seperation

very good comment, i am a firm believer in the role hip and shoulder separation play in the delivery...also i think arm action, how the chest and shoulders arc and contract are very important as well
