  • I play guitar... but I sure as hell can't play with no frets!

  • this is the contrabass not the acoustic bass,Peacock uses picups and amplifiers

  • cool

  • what did the floor bassist say when the music store manager called him a kleptomaniac...? nothing... he just took a bow... did you hear about the absent minded bassist who kissed his bass and plucked his wife...? they used the half-position...!

  • some folks call it a doghouse... some instruments are named after their inventors... like Saxophone, or Souzaphone - or Ukelele... some are named by their appearance... like tuba - a big tube... or trombone - une paper-clip... crumhorn!? the bass was merely named for its range... how imaginative... doubleboutedresonatingquadrachordophone...? why'd the drummer wear sneakers...? cuz he didn't wish to wake the bass player... why are some bass players like gardeners...? they only play the roots...

  • some call it a floor bass... cause it rests on the floor as it ain't got no place for a shoulder strap... what do you call the ones that have a wheel instead of a floor pin...? an acoustic rollerbass...? how about a non-electric bass...! it does sound like a floor bass, though...

  • its a bass violin... just a big, big violin... tuned in 4ths (bass viol?) instead of 5ths... once called double bass as it was used simply to double the cello part, but in the contra octave... en francais, c'est une "Contrebasse" or played below the cello a la "contra bass"... Jed calls it a string bass, but then, he plays in a string band... LOL! just stringin' ya 'long... however, upright bass was coined to differentiate from the "horizontal" fretted Fender Precision Electric Bass Guitar...

  • doesn't matter what you call it... it ain't never gonna come...

  • its a floor bass...

  • @foobargorch because it's misleading text, I understand that an upright bass is acoustic, but there is already an instrument called an acoustic bass. There is no other name for this. This bass, in the video, has a few names: string bass, upright bass, standup bass, contrabass. This isn't usually called an "acoustic bass". All I'm asking is to be more specific because I personally was browsing youtube for an acoustic bass, because i was looking into buying one.
