Pictures dating from 1946-1958 of young Norma Jeane turned Marilyn Monroe, on the beach.
Hills in rain, the peace of green.
I look back at a kingdom, disappearing,
steeped in clouds, As if to symbolize,
my step forward is good-bye.
It's a sunny day that finds me seeking,
in hues of pink, old raindrops streaking.
Like a plane lowering through the clouds;
I don't want to live a fairy tale's dream,
I want to team with the big cats.
My own life to live, my own words to sing.
In the meadow I feel the real.
In the sun, I know the true.
The day breathes the scent of Spring,
and I'll be ready for anything!
-- Poem from the writing tablet of Marilyn Monroe, written upon her return from England.
