Anna Mackenzie is a full-time writer with a background in public relations, publishing and 'numerous less tidy jobs'. She currently writes fiction for young adults, and has published five novels in the last seven years: High Tide (Scholastic, 2003), Out on the Edge (Longacre, 2005), The Sea-Wreck Stranger (Longacre, 2007), Shadow of the Mountain (Longacre, 2008) and Ebony Hill, a sequel to The Sea-Wreck Stranger, due out on 7 May (Longacre/Random House, 2010). She lives in Hawke's Bay.
