Good succinct coverage of the snow. These days we would have a pointless live cross to a reporter in their wellies telling us how bad it all is!

Fascinating - artificial insemination, American recession, unemployment, economy, nuclear weapons, the middle east - all sounding very familiar isn't it! We should all watch old news telecasts like this to see how history repeats itself & how we should all learn from it! Apart from all this, a fascinating look at TV news from the year that I was born! Love the need to announce an internal BBC position to the public !? ...and as usual the abrupt ending to the news service, as they always did.
