If you choke it properly and have it tuned right, mine starts with 2 or 3 flips by hand, 1 flip if its already warmed up. I've given up on glow for my larger stuff, the fuel is too expensive and gas engines like the dle-30 will out perform the OS and a lot cheaper to run and buy!

Inventive hold backs on a side-table.

Then I suggest that you not use the spinner when you're breaking in the engine.

Yes, without spinner i have two but in order to use spinner i can only use one

i have this exact plane and motor :) i picked it up from a friend, and he said the same thing ! that it can hover but not enough power to realy lift off from said hover .. p.s why is your pilot in front ??? lol j/k but he should be in back ;)

I know that the pilot should be in the backseat and a passenger would sit on the C.G (in front of the pilot). But the pilot was glued like this from the factory (it’s an ARF). Nowadays the pilot is gone and I have painted the canopy black (from inside).

The 120 engine can make the plane hover, but it doesn't pull up from a hover with this engine.

Hello I bought the os 120III surpass 4 stroke w/pump and set the needles as instructed from the instruction booklet. Low end needle..2.5 out. High end needle..1.5 out from closed position. The engine will not stay idleing at a good low rpm for too long and just shuts off...any ideas?

First, run-in the engine. (Page 1314)
Then adjust idling mixture (Page 15). Listen to the engine when you reopen the throttle, and do the proper adjustments.
