  • She makes an invalied comparison to her party's political standpoints of today and 50 years ago. This statement would only appeal to an American who is dumb enough to take her word for it.

This archaic minded fossil doesn't recognize that democrats used to be the republicans when this all started. These parties change their mind about every....8 years or so.

  • I've seen this woman before. What a stupid thing to say that the republicans passed the civil rights bill. If it weren't for the Dems, black women still couldn't vote. What a moron

  • @joshuancts well are you retarded.??...if you were black in the 1960s you would vote republican...you know the party that was created to free blacks...hint hint ...democrats still have slaves ...blacks are political sheep

  • Is she retarded?

  • She is...the stupidest piece of shit...

  • @aceflashheart Well Neoconservatives are from the left they were socialists and anti-communists who switched over to the Republicans b/c of the vietnam war protesters so yes. But modern progressives still rate Woodrow Wilson as one of the greatest presidents in US history in all survey's. Ask a republican or conservative and he'll be near the bottom.

  • @Willredd94 Only Glenn Beck thinks that Woodrow Wilson was the father of modern "progressivism". If Woodrow Wilson is a key figure in any major modern politic philosophy it's prob. Neo-Conservatism, not anything of the left.

  • @aceflashheart What about all the northern conservative republicans that strongly supported it and championed civil rights for decades prior. Calvin coolidge (Vermont), Warren Harding (Ohio), Everett Dirksen (illinois). All born and raised in the north, all very conservative, all major leaders in the movement to bring civil rights to blacks. Woodrow Wilson was a deeply racist man and opposed civil rights and women's suffrage, yet he is somehow the father of modern progressivism. interesting...?

  • I'm not saying I agree with Foxx but Helms was actually still a Democrat (and also wasn't in US Congress yet) when the whole Civil Rights Act 1964 happened. However, I believe that Strom Thurmond changed party identification shortly after it's passage.

Anyway, I'm not here to fuel any flames, just providing some technical details.

  • When it comes time to blacks republicans especially the coservative ones should stay out of discussions involving blacks and black history. I have never heard them say anything that wasn't offensive or wrong. Conservatives think we are stupid as they always have.
