@19seejay89 - You can tell a lot about a person by shaking their hand and paying attention to the roughness/callousness of that hand. He knew that the FBI agent wasn't a marine because his hands were smooth... hence, the day/office job. He knew who Gunny was because a marine would have calloused hands from the hard manual/physical labor they endure.
