Hospitals in the south east face reconfiguration of services as the HSE continues to cut services in smaller hospitals in favour of major hospitals. By the end of 2009 network managers will present thier plan to cut back A&E services in Wexford in favour of a single unit at Waterford designed to accomodate all A&E cses in the region. Many admissions to hospitals occur at A&E and I share teh concerns of Labour TD Brendan Howlin and my labour coleagues that this development will spell the end of Wexford General Hospital as an acute hospital serving our county.   • In June 2011 Minister Brendan Howlin announced that €21M is to be spent upgrading the A&E and maternity unit at Wexford General
