Musical Instrument Associate from Northridge, California, Timothy Ornelus has played bass for six years and grew up listening to Prince and country. He picks the Fender American Standard P-Bass because its made in America, has a solid body, and Duncan pickups. It expresses everything he wants from harmonics to high range and has the right pluck sound. He chose the Ampeg Combo Bass amp since its easy to move, has a built-in tuner, and puts out enough sound to compete with a drummer.

  • @bassmanpatz i play gigs with a $100 ibanez and a circa 1980's 15 inch PA speaker i got from craigslist and it doesnt make a difference. sure, my markbass stack and warwick sound alot better, but at the end of the day you are either good or not. don't blame your gear.

  • Yeah wouldn't class Sting as 'Classic/hard rock' more like pop/rock. At least he could play but bullshitted along the way.

  • @bassmanpatz how do you know you are better than him ? have you seen him play in a live band ?

you see a 3 minute clip of him just playing around... i wouldnt jump to conclussions from a tiny example of what he can or can not play. life isnt all about being better than someone.

  • i really wish i had money so i didnt have to put up with shitty equipment every time i play a gig. i mean i dont wana be some big headed arsehole but this guy is a good player, but i know that im better and it really anoys me that the only thing holding me back from truely expressing myself and really getting in to my music is something as material as money! which is not what music is about! x

  • I'm pretty sure not all country music basslines consist purely of roots and fifths.

  • Fez from That 70's show plays bass!!! oh wel..."plays"

  • need advice that is alder or ash bass

  • Seymour Duncan pickup? NAH. im pretty sure fender uses their own pickups in their basses

  • SINCE WHEN DOES BEST BUY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS!!!!!!!!!

  • i think in all american fender basses the strings go through. this guy is just " gussing" WTF ?????
