First thing's first, and that is to thank Ankush Jain ("SongsAJ" on YouTube) for his brilliant video editing skills in this video. Without him there would be no video!
This is an instrumental, multi-track cover of "Exogenesis: Symphony Part 3 (Redemption)" by Muse. I recorded the piano first and then added in the strings, followed by instruments and voices which are not included in the original, such as trombones, woodwinds and a choir. These virtual instruments are from the symphony and voices GarageBand jampacks. I am playing each one via MIDI. Logic Pro 9 was used to record, mix and master the audio while Ankush used Final Cut Pro to put the videos together. I then used iMovie 09 to sync everything up.
So you've probably been asked this a lot but do you find sheet music for every part? Or figure it all out by ear, in which case you are a musical genius?
Also, so beautiful. This sent shivers down my spine!
