June 8 2010. In a except from the ABC's Foreign Correspondent program former Japanese crewmen blow the whistle on the stealing and selling whale meat from the so called ICR scientific expeditions. They claim whale meat gathered on the trips is being sold onto restaurants, or kept for personal consumption. One, who calls himself the Japanese equivalent of Mr Whale, is a former crewman on Japan's whaling fleet flagship the Nisshin Maru. Another whistleblower, who has more than 30 years experience on Japanese whaling ships, said he too had seen evidence of meat harvesting. Yet more evidence this industry cannot be trusted to conduct its self in an open sustainable manner. If this was all so legal, why all the secrecy and cover up?
Excellent post.

Japanese government officials at the highest levels were involved with this from the beginning. That's why the judges released the accused and arrested the whistle blowers.
