Which end is up? Dave and Susie Anderson show you how to identify the Tobacco Hornworm (sometimes called the Tomato Hornworm) and prevent it from harming your tomatoes.
i just caught a Tabacco hornworm caterpillar eating my green tomatoes, i was looking up what it's called and found this :3 he's cute and i named him Herman. I love all his cute eyes, he's very happy eating my tomatoes so give him little tomatoes from myy garden. I love him, hopefully my cat will leave him alone.
Tomato/tobacco hornworm caterpillars do NOT turn into hummingbird moths, they turn into tomato/tobacco hornworm moths. The caterpillar of the hummingbird moth eats plants of the honeysukle family not tomato & tobacco plants. The hummingbird moth is unique in that it actually does resemble a hummingbird. Look it up if you are interested. (The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Insects and Spiders was used as my reference for this information as well as personal experience)
SAY NO TO PESTICIDES OF ANY KIND!
There are simple inexpensive ways to kill poisons
or bacteria's on your produce.
Fill your sink 1/2 full,,,ADD 4 TBS salt,then a half squeezed lemon.
soak fruits and veggies for 5 minutes and it will kill it DEAD!
the mixture will make a Natural Hydrochloric Acid that will destroy pesticides and bacteria on your produce.
