This is the point in his life when Jimmy's voice finally "cracked'. I think he was 40 when it happened. Prior to this he had the speaking voice of a pre-teen boy. This is also the time where he and Eddie Van Halen looked alike. Maybe, it's an Asian thing....not sure.

@Rafterman123 Actually he played the telecaster on the first LZ album & then switched to a les Paul from the 2nd LP onwards w/ some exceptions ie; tele for the "stairway" solo or the danelectro for "Kashmir" the double neck for "carouselambra" etc.

Wow, I completely forgot that Jimmy used to smoke... weird seeing him with a cig... XD

@tardwhisperer Page started out playing a Fender Telecaster on the first three albums and he is most famous for playing a Les Paul Standard. He got the doubleneck guitar after he was already famous. So his talent had to do with his talent, not the guitar

Every guitar show interview I see, the interviewee is always coked or high out of their mind.
Coked up NO, High NO, Out of My Mind QUITE POSSIBLY.

Do you have the entire interview somewhere on here? I dont see anything but this small snipet... which I do appreciate as much as any Page fan out there. But I was hoping to see the whole thing. I do hope you have it for us all to enjoy. So...

@baronsting There are (3) clips with Jimmy Page and Les Paul on my YouTube Channel. The clips of Jimmy and Les were videotaped at Les' house right after Live Aid 1985. Jimmy loved Les Paul and took the time to get to see him at his house. It was heaven. Do subscribe to FrontRowMusicNYC. More great clips will be coming soon. Enjoy and thanks.

LOL..knock on wood, that was priceless..what you people are forgetting is that at this time zeppelin were has beens..they regained popularity through radio play after they were over with bonhams death..jimmy was probably happy to do any show he could.

@gumbeet You're right it was priceless. But Led Zeppelin weren't has beens at that time. Jimmy just finished Live Aid in Philadelphia on a Sunday. Jimmy didn't do very many interviews at the time. He certainly didn't need me and my little show for self promotion. The purpose was to get Jimmy together with his idol Les Paul at Les' house. He wanted to do the interview that Monday but I couldn't do it until Thursday. He stayed around until Thursday to do this. He was cool. Subscribe!
